Sadly, John Combe passed away on April 4, 2020, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, from natural causes. The veteran died at the age of 70 and was born on May 23, 1949, around 30 miles from Laurel.

The program refers to Combe as being “in loving memory of Combe” in a segment that aired on April 16, 2020. On April 7, 2020, Erin Napier expressed her profound sorrow over his passing.

His closest friend and the executrix of his estate, Kathi Jones, said that his house would be placed up for sale in June 2021.

Combe was assisted in purchasing the 1950s house that had grown to be his second home by Erin and Ben from The Home Town.

The house, which has three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and about 3,000 square feet of living space, was reportedly bought for $199,000 in total, according to Ben Napier.

The upgrades, according to his estimate, cost around $150,000. But there was still area for disagreement regarding the sale of John’s home.

According to real estate agent Kathi, the Laurel house might not be able to be maintained. As a result, they put the Combe home on the market.

Finding a homeowner who valued the home and HGTV’s past as much as Combe did, in Kathi’s opinion, was satisfying.

The agency even sold the John home in Belize, which is in the capable hands of the beneficiary. She mentioned the veteran’s keepsake that was housed there.

The Laurel house was put up for sale during the first week of July. Along with the furnishings and some inquiries, the residence had been sold.

The beauties of his hometown would still be treasured by the late Combe. Even the pool table was always regarded as a component of the home.
