Aisha represented Kilifi County as a woman from 2013 to 2017 while also holding the position of commissioner for the Parliamentary Service Commission.

Throughout her political career, Aisha has been embroiled in numerous controversies.

On October 22, 2020, the Malindi MP was accused of murder in connection with the passing of Ngumbao Jola. On October 15, 2019, Jola lost her life in the confusion that followed the campaigns for a Ganda Ward by-election.
