Julie Plec and Zach Roerig’s partnership for The Vampire Diaries was entirely professional. Julie and Zach worked together to create the show.
The supernatural teen drama series got its name from a popular book series by L. J. Smith with the same name. The CW debuted on September 10, 2009, and ran until March 10, 2017.
Before Arrow took its position, it was The CW’s most-watched show. The show received many nominations for awards and was the winner of several Teen Choice Awards and four People’s Choice Awards.
Fans can’t help but watch the show repeatedly, even though it is pretty violent—after all, the characters are vampires. There is a long list of supernatural beings in The Vampire Diaries, including vampires, witches, werewolves, hybrids, and ghosts.

The Vampire Diaries Stars Julie Plec And Zach Roerig
Julie Plec and Zach Roerig get along well while producing “The Vampire Diaries.” The friendship between the two was very professional.
Kevin was encouraged to read novels by Julie, the co-creator and producer of the adolescent series, as he was first uninterested in creating the show.
He started reading novels and gradually got into the plot. Without Kevin’s assistance, Plec exclusively tried to create a second spin-off. The Originals, a secret pilot based on The Originals that starred British actor Joseph Morag, came out on October 3, 2013.
Roerig, best known for playing Casey Hughes in As the World Turns and Hunter Atwood in One Life to Live, played Donovan, Elana’s childhood friend and ex-boyfriend, and Vicki’s younger brother.
His persona is opposed to taking part in paranormal activities. To keep vampires out of town, he later becomes a police officer.
In the eighth season, he is appointed sheriff of the community, and he intends to run for mayor. Roerig attended the lead role auditions before being cast as Donovan. says Plec.
On The Show, Zach Dated Candice Accola
The Vampire Diaries actors Zach and Candice Accola dated both in front of and behind the camera. While collaborating on the teen drama series, the couple dated.
Donovan Forbes and Carolina Forbes, who play them on-screen, both hail from Mystic Falls but didn’t get along at first.
Later, they developed a friendship that gradually led to a romance in the first season. The romance didn’t last long, though, as Donovan discovered Forbes had become a vampire in the next season.
Tyler was able to approach Forbes because of the plan. Although they were together just briefly, they remained friends.
Roerig and Accola had friends in real life too. Around seasons 2 and 3, the couple allegedly dated from August 2011 to May 2012. They made an effort to conceal their relationship. But occasionally shared cute tweets.
US Weekly reports that Candice tweeted a picture of the actor in October 2011 along with the message, “Cheering on my boyfriend at his second paddle board race!”
The star also uploaded To cast Stefan and Damon, we scribbled over Candice’s stomach extensively. He wrote, “My number one cheerleader!” clearly confirming their relationship.
They dated for a year before calling it to quit in 2012. a tweet showing her on the beach in a bikini. Zach, you go!
Roerig’s History Of Dating
He is possibly not dating at the moment (One Life to Live is present), but he had at least three romances prior. Roerig had relationships with Alana Turner, Kayla Ewell, Candice Accola, and Nathalie Kelley.
Alana Turner
Alana Turner, Roerig’s ex-girlfriend, is well-known among her followers. Despite not getting married, they had a daughter together.
The child, now twelve years old, was born in January 2011. Alana was detained at a federal facility in June 2013.
The actor then requested sole custody of his daughter, who was only two years old, in court documents filed in Georgia.
Kayla Ewell (2010)
In June 2010, the actor allegedly began dating American actress Kayla. However, neither of the celebrities commented on the rumor.
Ewell is well-known for her appearances as Caitlin Ramirez on CBS’s venerable soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, Vicki Donovan on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries, and Maureen Sampson on NBC’s Freaks and Geeks.
Candice Accola (2011-2012)
From 2011 to 2012, co-stars Accola and Roerig were dating. as was previously mentioned. Even after their separation, they continued to collaborate until the series’ conclusion in 2017.
Accola and Joe King first met in February 2012 at a Super Bowl celebration, and soon after, they began dating. They married on October 18, 2014, after becoming engaged in May 2013.
Their two daughters are joint. The actress revealed that she got divorced in May 2022.
Nathalie Kelley (2016-2017)
Following their encounter on The Vampire Diaries set, Roerig and Nathalie began dating. Even though they never shared a screen on the show, the actress claimed it was probably for the best.
US Weekly says that they told the world about their relationship in November 2016 by posting photos of themselves cuddling on their Instagram pages.
Nathalie assisted with childcare for the actor’s daughter, who was six years old. After the series’ Atlanta filming was finished in March, the actor shared a sweet photo of himself and Kelley.
In 2017, after dating for a year, they broke up.
