He is one of the performers profiled in Mónica Maristain’s book 30 Performers Made in Mexico. He plays K’uk’ulkan / Namor in the 2022 Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where he is now known by the name Tenoch Huerta Mejia.

In a 2022 San Diego Comic-Con presentation for the Marvel Studios film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Huerta joined the cast and made his Namor debut.

Who Tenoch Huerta’s parents were remains unclear. His mother’s ancestors are Nahua, whereas his father’s line is Purépecha.

Huerta was enrolled in a Mara Elena Saldaa acting class by his film buff father, and went on to study under Carlos Torres Torrija and Luis Felipe Tovar.

Huerta is from a Native American family; her Nahua maternal great-great-grandmother and Purépecha paternal great-great-grandmother are both indigenous people.

Huerta contests his or her claim to be an indigenous person. He nonetheless encourages people to do so to understand more about their Indigenous ancestry, both inside and outside of the community.

Huerta’s younger daughter is 2 years and 6 months old, while his older daughter Atzin is 9 years old as of November 2022.

Tenoch Huerta was born in Ecatepec de Morelos, Mexico, on January 29, 1981, and is 41 years old.

His acting career began when he played a minor role in the 2006 film Asi del precipicio. In Cary Joji Fukunaga’s 2009 film Sin nombre, he portrayed Li’l Mago, the leader of the infamous Mara Salvatrucha gang’s Tapachula division.

In the 2015 biographical disaster survival film The 33, Alejo in Camino, he played the role of Carlos Mamami. He began portraying Rafael Caro Quintero in Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico in 2018.

He portrays Juan in The Forever Purge, the fifth entry in the Purge franchise, which was released in 2021, with his Narcos: Mexico co-star Alejandro Edda.
