George Jones and Tammy Wynette were wed for precisely six years. Yet, one of the most popular subjects in American country music history is still the relationship. Wynette was Jones’ third spouse and a legendary singer. In 1950, he married Dorothy Bonvillion, with whom he later divorced. Then, in 1954, he married Shirley Ann Corley, with whom he later divorced in 1968.

He then met Wynette, who was already well-known in the American music business, and the two got married in 1969. However, their union was short-lived, and after much media drama, they divorced in 1975. He eventually married Nancy Sepulvado, who would become his fourth wife.
