Otto Kilcher Family Background
Otto Kilcher was born to his parents on April 19, 1952, as was already mentioned. He was born under the sign of Aries. Ruth Kilcher educated her children at home until they were teenagers because the elementary school in the area was too far to walk to.
His father, Yule Kilcher, was awarded 160 acres of public land to homestead when he arrived in Alaska in 1940. Yule, a state senator from Juneau, worked there while Ruth, his mother, and the kids assisted with farm care. Over 600 acres of land were eventually possessed by the homestead.
Yule reportedly established the Kilcher Family Trust in the 1990s to guarantee that subsequent Kilcher generations could continue farming the land he liked and prevent his children from inheriting it. The eight Kilcher siblings share ownership of the farmhouse.
The farmhouse, which includes an actual cabin that has been transformed into a museum, is also open for tours by the family. There are displays of old farming machinery. As one of the siblings gives a tour of the land, they trade personal stories about growing up on their farm.
The final program I’ll mention is Alaska: The Last Frontier on the Discovery Channel. Atz, his brother Otto, and other Kilcher family members are emphasized in the tenth season of the show.
