Quarterback Roger Staubach Is A Former Football
Roger served as the Dallas Cowboys’ Captain America throughout his playing career.
The retired athlete was a quarterback with the Cowboys for 11 seasons in the National Football League. Before joining Dallas in 1969, Roger the Dodger also served in the U.S. Navy. He later coached the team to victories in Super Bowls VI and XII.
Like Staubach, who won the 1963 Heisman Trophy while playing quarterback for the Midshipmen while attending the U.S. Naval Academy, he also earned six Pro Bowl appearances during his 11-year NFL career, cementing his status as the sport’s top quarterback.
He created The Staubach Company, a commercial real estate company, in collaboration with Robert Holloway Jr. after ending his career as an active player in 1980. Additionally, until 2018, he served as Jones Lang LaSalle’s executive chairman.
