Stacey Baca is quitting ABC, and she has no immediate plans to work for another network. She stated in a recent interview that she intended to leave her job for a longer period of time.
Stacey is leaving Chicago’s ABC 7 and intends to take a professional retirement to spend more time with her family.
Having an adventure in retirement is more important to Baca than working, she said in a response to one of her followers on Twitter.

Journalist Stacey Baca is quitting her position with ABC 7. Since joining Chicago Eyewitness News in 2002, she has been co-anchoring ABC7’s weekend morning newscasts.
On May 2, 2022, Stacey Baca will leave ABC 7 Chicago, as she previously indicated. For the network, she covered a variety of topics, including the Chicago Cubs’ 2016 World Series victory.

Additionally, Stacey talked about the Covid-19 outbreak, the deaths of veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan, and other subjects.
Before joining ABC 7 News, Baca served as an anchor and reporter at KNSD in San Diego, California.
Stacey has received numerous honors from the Associated Press and the Academy of National Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). She is a member of NATAS as well as the Association of Hispanic Journalists.

The general manager of the station and the vice president of news were commended by Stacey for “understanding and supporting her decision.”

The husband of Stacey Baca served in the Navy. She spent her time writing about military issues in the Chicago area.
She has spent more than 25 years in the military. Due to her husband’s military employment, Baca has worked her way from the West Coast to the East Coast.
Before joining ABC 7 News in 2002, Baca hosted and reported for KNSD in San Diego.
She covered a wide range of topics in California, including the military, politics, criminal justice, and disagreements over the international border between the United States and Mexico.
In order to cover the 2000 Summer Olympics, Stacey also traveled to Sydney, Australia. She is a loyal aunt, a world traveler, a horseback rider, and a devoted daughter. Chicago is where Baca and her husband call home.
