Robert Crimo has been detained; he is a person of interest in the horrific shooting that occurred in Illinois Highland Park on Monday.
By a press release from the city, sixteen people had their injuries treated at hospitals, while others went to the hospitals’ perimeters on their own.
Around 6:30 p.m., Crimo was apprehended after being identified by a North Chicago police officer. Crimo was halted after a brief chase and was promptly taken into custody in nearby Lake Forest.
According to the police, Crimo, who is still considered a “person of interest,” was led to the Highland Park Police Department for questioning.

According to investigators, a North Chicago officer tried to stop traffic when he spotted Crimo. Before being apprehended, Crimo led police on a brief pursuit.

The FBI offered a reward for information leading to Crimo’s apprehension earlier Monday evening and declared that he “should be regarded armed and dangerous.”
