Former professional ice hockey player Ryan Smyth is now spending time with his family.

With the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League (WHL), he played for three seasons, amassing 105 goals in just the 1993–1994 season.

In the sixth round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, the Edmonton Oilers selected him. Ryan only played in three games for the Oilers and spent the majority of the season in Moose Jaw.

The following year, Smyth was given unrestricted free agency by the Colorado Avalanche, and he accepted a five-year contract.
