The football coach has a history of mental health issues. So to promote mental health research, he and his wife, Christina Spirou Day, are giving $1 million to the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health.

As part of the On Our Sleeves campaign, he and his wife, Nina, established a fund at Nationwide Children’s Hospital for mental health for kids and teenagers. They contributed $1 million to studies on mental health in August of last year.

To support services and research in mental health, the Day couple has committed to donating $1 million to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and College of Medicine this year. The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health will house the administrative headquarters of the Christina and Ryan Day Resilience Fund.
