A Stow police officer found Miss Johnson’s body on March 15 behind the Maplepark Road home she shared with her mother.

Johnson’s mother allegedly called the police from West Virginia to ask them to check on her daughter after being unreachable for the previous two days.

Police assert that they detained Buck, who had been renting a basement room at the Johnson home, on March 20 after blood DNA evidence in Buck’s car was traced to Miss Johnson.

Stow resident Michelle Johnson was killed last spring. Police say that early on Thursday morning, after officers found blood from the slain Stow woman’s housemate inside the car, they filed murder charges.

Both Roxanne L. Buck, 44, and Michelle Johnson, 21, who lived in a duplex on Maplepark Road together, were taken into custody on suspicion of tampering with evidence and murder.

She was given a $1 million cash bond by Kim Hoover, the municipal judge for Stow, and is currently being held in the Summit County Jail. Buck’s attorney could not be located soon away.

Johnson was “repeatedly stabbed and cut” by Buck, according to court filings, before she died.

Roxanne L. Buck’s whereabouts isn’t known on the internet as of 2022. For the murder offense, Roxanne L. Buck will spend at least 18 years in prison.

On Tuesday, Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands sentenced Buck to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 18 years.

On Friday, a jury found Buck guilty of murder as well as tampering with evidence, a third-degree crime. The defense lawyer, Scott Rilley, said that Buck would appeal the decision.

Killer Roxanne L. Buck Arrest Charges

The trial for Roxanne L. Buck’s murder of Stow resident Michelle Johnson is still going on.

On March 15, Johnson’s body was found in a shed outside the Maplepark Road house she shared with her mother, Diana Johnson, and Buck.

The 12 jurors and two alternates, picked from a pool of 42 applicants, then visited the Maplepark Road residence where the alleged murder occurred.

The 45-year-old Buck is charged with murder and tampering with evidence in the third degree. She has been held in the Summit County Jail since her arrest on March 20 as a result of a $1 million bail.

Roxanne is also accused of attempting to obstruct law enforcement by sanitizing the crime scene.
