Unknown numbers of police officers in Ohio have been placed on paid administrative leave. At the same time, an investigation is carried out following a police chase that ended on Monday with Jayland Walker being fatally shot.

According to a statement on Facebook by the Akron Police Department, authorities tried to stop Walker for a traffic infraction at about 12:30 a.m. on Monday, but the driver refused.

Jayland Walker Family Wants Police Accountability

The grieving family of Joyland Walker came together on Thursday to ask for tolerance, understanding, and justice in the most recent officer-involved death. Walker passed suddenly on Monday, allegedly evading a traffic stop, according to the police.

The family is reportedly asking the various police officers. They are said to have shot Walker multiple times during a 42-second car pursuit from Akron’s North Hill area to Firestone Park for explanations.
