James Lambert, 73, lost his life the next day after being hit with a traffic cone by a bunch of kids on a North Philadelphia street last month. The assault was documented on camera.
James Lambert was ambushed on June 24 at 2:38 a.m. as he crossed Cecil B. Moore Avenue near North 21st Street, according to Philadelphia police.

After that, Lambert walks along the sidewalk until a young girl with a cone over her head starts to follow her.
The victim was repeatedly hit with objects by the teens, who also knocked him to the ground and injured his head, according to a police internet page. The patient was transferred to the hospital, where the following day he passed away from his injuries.
The video shows the young individuals running away from the scene; one of them even hopped on a scooter and seemed to be speaking with another young person just after the attack. A young person is also seen running down the sidewalk.
James Lambert Death Cause
One of the young people had a blonde hair patch, which was the only particular description the police gave of any of the young people. They’re hoping that showing everyone in this image from multiple angles, may help people find them.
The City of Philadelphia offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case, as it does with any unsolved homicide in the city.
The authorities are urging anyone who sees the teens call 911 immediately. Authorities are urging anyone with information on the attack to get in touch with them by phone, text, or online at 215-686- (8477).
The “Simmie” family of Lambert informed NBC10’s Danny Freeman that they are heartbroken by his passing.
