He participated in their summer training camp, however he narrowly missed being selected for England’s team for the 2007 Rugby World Cup.

He played a significant role in the England team’s performance in the 2008 Six Nations. In both of the trials for the summer 2008 New Zealand tour, Haskell was present.

Martin Johnson selected him for the 2008-2009 Elite Player Squad on July 1, 2008. All three of the autumn international games included him, and he started the game against South Africa.

He was selected for the England team as a result of his Stade play and Tom Croft’s injury. In the opening game of the 2010 Six Nations, he scored two tries against Wales. After that, he began each round with a kick.

To play Toulouse that weekend during the Six Nations break, Stade requested that he return to Paris. The RFU persisted, but he stayed in England.

Haskell was a member of Stuart Lancaster’s 31-man Rugby World Cup squad, but Tom Wood took his place after England lost in the group stage.
