Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin, also known as Buddy Franklin (AFL), is a professional Australian rules football player for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League.
From 2005 to 2013, he was a member of the Hawthorn Football Club. During his tenure at Hawthorn, Franklin won two premierships, four All-Australian selections, two Coleman Medals, and a Peter Crimmins Medal.
Before his final season with the team in 2013, he led Hawthorn in goals scored for six straight seasons and twice won the AFL Goal of the Year (2010 and 2013).
In round four of the 2005 campaign, he was nominated for the AFL Rising Star award.

Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin was raised in Dowerin and was a fan of the Melbourne Football Club. However, he was born in Perth, Western Australia, into a Noongar-Wajuk family. As a result, Franklin has numerous tattoos honouring his native ancestry.
Before relocating to Western Australia at 21, Franklin’s father, Lance Sr., lived in Melbourne and competed for Victoria in hockey.
His mother, Ursula, is an Indigenous person. Bianca Giteau, his sister, represented the Adelaide Thunderbirds in the ANZ Championship.
Former football players Jeff Garlett and Dale Kickett’s relatives are Franklin.

On November 4, 2016, Franklin wed Jesinta Campbell, a Nine Network presenter and former Miss Universe Australia model.
Franklin, a Queensland representative, was named Miss Universe Australia 2010 on June 17.
Later, on August 23, 2010, she participated in the Miss Universe 2010 competition and placed second, behind Yendi Phillipps (Jamaica) and winner Ximena Navarrete (Mexico). At this pageant, she was also named Miss Congenial.
Franklin announced she was expecting her first child in August of this year. In February 2020, their daughter Tullulah was born.
Franklin announced that she was having a second child in October 2020. In March 2021, their son Rocky was born.
