After establishing his animation company, Sergio Pablos created the conventionally animated feature film. Mary Lesher, whose career began in animation, passed away in 2019, and the film was dedicated to her memory.

The first animated feature film ever to debut on Netflix did so on November 15, 2019. Forty million homes had seen it during the first four weeks.

On the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, the film scored 95% based on 76 critics’ opinions. It was deemed hilarious, and the critics lauded the touching narrative. In addition, it has been nominated for and won several prizes.
