Derrico Johnson of Southwest Washington, DC, has been detained and charged with First Degree Murder while armed after being identified as the shooter who killed Justin Johnson, aka 23 Rackz.
One month after the murder on May 26, 2022, in the Southeast 2200 block of Savannah Terrace, he was apprehended.
Members of the Seventh District arrived at the murder scene at roughly 11:24 am and discovered a young man who had been shot; it was later found that this individual was the rapper Justin Johnson.
When DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene, they discovered the victim had already passed away. The victim was quickly sent to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
According to a drill rap YouTube channel, Justin posted his location on an Instagram story just before he was shot and died.

Justin signed with the MGE label in the year 2020. Michael Johnson, the young rapper’s father, claimed he had been detained once for a gun-related incident.
The location of the shooting, the junction of Savannah Terrace and 23rd St. in Southeast Washington, will host a candlelight vigil in honour of 23 Rackz on June 3 at 6:30 pm.
