Dak Prescott Father, Mother, Home Town And Family Details

To parents, Peggy and Nathaniel Prescott came to a son they named Dak. Dak is one of five siblings. They all grew up in Sulphur, Louisiana.

When Prescott was in high school, he went to Haughton. He had scholarship offers from several universities, including Memphis, TCU, North Texas, LSU, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State, and Nicholls State, and was ranked as a 3-star prospect overall.

Dak took up Mississippi State on their offer and was twice named to the All-Southeastern Conference first team. His team, the Dallas Cowboys, selected him in Round 4 of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Two Pro Bowl appearances for the 2016 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. In his seven years with the Cowboys, he has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week four times.

Dak Prescott Parents

Prescott’s father, Nathaniel, is African American, while his mother, Peggy, is of European American origin. They had a daughter and three sons.

Dak had just started kindergarten when Peggy and her husband Nat split up. Afterward, while raising the children, she worked long hours at Huddle House, a diner and truck stop. In Haughton, Louisiana, the family occupied a trailer with three bedrooms.

Dak Prescott Was Raised With Love And Kindness

Peggy’s father was the principal of the high school where she studied. According to Bleacher Report, when she started dating Nathaniel as a senior in 1979, the school community turned against them.

As a result of her openness and tolerance, Dak was able to develop into a strong leader. For the first two years of Dak’s time at Mississippi State, his mom never missed a game.

Before each game, they would gather for a pregame chat. After a courageous fight against colorectal cancer, Peggy passed away on November 3, 2013, at 52.

At the time, Dak was a sophomore at Mississippi State University. In tribute to her, Dak created the Faith Fight Foundation.

On Mother’s Day in 2021, he launched a campaign to collect donations for medical science. Raised monies went toward hiring the next generation of promising young researchers to join the SU2C Colorectal Cancer Dream Team.

Prescott frequently publishes images of himself and Peggy together on social media as a way of honoring and remembering her. His mother’s birthday, September 4, is the inspiration for his choice of jersey number.

Dak Prescott’s Father, Nat

Dak Prescott and his dad, Nat, have a great relationship. On July 29, 2017, on his 24th birthday, he surprised him at Cowboys practice.

Prescott’s passion for the Cowboys stems from generations of family tradition. Previously, Nat was a commercial driver in the Louisiana oil fields. He uprooted his life and worked as a municipal bus driver in Austin, Texas.

In 2017, he was a resident in Friso, five kilometers from Dak. The canines of his son, Legend and The GOAT, were the focus of Nat’s attention.

The attention is usually on Dak’s connection with Peggy, but Nat told The Dallas Morning News that some fans do not know about his relationship with Dak.

Family Life Of Dak Prescott

Dak and his family presently reside in a luxurious house in Prosper, Texas, valued at about $3.3 million. But he came from modest means and spent his formative years in Louisiana.

Elliott Prescott, his older half-brother, comes from his father’s first marriage. When Dak, Tad, and Jace were little, they made a game out of everything.

They even had a contest to see who could leave the supermarket with the most shopping bags. All three brothers covered themselves in tattoos depicting football players.

The elder Prescott frequently tweets his approval of Dak. As reported by the Houston Chronicle, he even began beefing with Cowboys icon Dez Bryant in January 2022.

Dak’s Brother, Jace 

Dak was born on May 15, 1983, five years before Jace on May 10, 1988. After finishing high school in Haughton, he enrolled at Northwestern State in 2007.

His final college game came in 2009 when he played on the offensive line. While in university, Jace focused on his studies in psychology and general studies.

When Peggy was ill with cancer, Jace took care of her almost exclusively. According to FOX News, he went dead suddenly in April 2020 at the age of 31.

Dak Prescott’s Sister, Natalie Prescott-Smith

In April 2018, Dak and Natalie Prescott-Smith went to a comedy event by Kate Quigley with their father.

Kate revealed that they attended both performances and sat in the front row by tweeting a selfie of the two of them together.

Natalie Prescott-Smith, the lone sister in the family, avoids the spotlight and does not use social media.
