Arthur Blank, the CEO of the home improvement retailer The Home Depot, is expected to have a net worth of $7 billion by 2022.
He began his career as a senior accountant for Arthur Young and Company before joining the Daylin Corporation. He ascended through the ranks to become president of Elliott’s Drug Stores/Stripe Discount Stores in 1970.

Daylin eventually sold the Elliot’s Stripe division, so he relocated and joined Bernie Marcus’ Handy Dan division.
In 1978, he and Marcus were sacked from their employment, opening their store three years later.
He stayed as the CEO of the Home Sport for the following two decades until his abrupt retirement in 2000, but that did not mean he stopped working.
Instead, he put his money into the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United.
