Many young athletes from the 32 participating countries will compete in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. 

The top 10 young athletes to watch are Jude Bellingham, Jamal Musiala, Rafael Leao, Gabi, Pedri, Christian Pulisic, Edward Camavinga, Ricardo Pepi, Phil Foden, and Vinicius Jr. The football community will welcome these ten young players with open arms at the 2018 World Cup.

Due to their considerable exposure to various football leagues and their consistent success with their individual clubs and, in some cases, national teams, they will undoubtedly face high expectations from fans, commentators, and their country.

Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham, a 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund player, will start as England’s central midfielder. He joined Birmingham’s youth team, and in 2019 he was promoted to the senior group.

He only played for one season, but in those 41 games, he scored 4 goals. In 2003, he was born in the English market town of Stourbridge, and he helped Birmingham keep their Premier League position.

The young player’s jersey, number 22 will no longer be worn by the team in honour of his contributions. He also received the season’s Young Player of the Year award.

The 19-year-career old’s took off after he transferred from Birmingham City to Borussia Dortmund. He has made 76 total appearances for Dortmund and scored 7 goals.

When Dortmund won the DFB Pokal in his first season there in 2020–2021, it was the first of many victories for him in Germany.

He joined the England U-15 squad in 2016 and the senior team in 2020, making England his home country for the duration of his international career. He has so far played 17 times for England.


Spanish centre midfielder Pedri, who is 19 years old, plays for FC Barcelona. He was conceived in the year 2002 in Bjamar, Spain.

In 2019, he joined the Las Palmes youth team and eventually made it to the senior group. After he participated in 36 games and scored four goals, Barcelona decided to extend his contract.

He concurred, made Barcelona his home, and has since contributed significantly to their midfield. His nine goals for Barcelona have been scored in 63 appearances thus far.

He was recognized as the Spanish team’s youngest player. He battled all the way to the semifinals and was named the best young player in the competition. As of November 16, 2022, he had only made 10 appearances for Spain’s national team.

Eduardo Camavinga

Eduardo Camavinga, a 20-year-old football player, will play for France in the 2022 World Cup. He plays for Real Madrid. He was born at a camp for refugees in Angola in 2002.

His parents are from the Congo, an African nation. He stands out for the French national team because of his ethnicity. He joined the senior team of French club Rennes in 2019.

When he made his debut on August 18, he broke the record for the youngest player in Rennes history. Since 2021, he has appeared in 40 games as a center midfielder for Real Madrid, scoring twice.

Vinicius Jr

Every football fan should keep an eye on the 22-year-old Brazilian player Vinicius Jr. at the 2022 World Cup. He was born in Sao Goncalo and plays wing for Real Madrid.

He joined the Flamengo youth team in Brazil in 2017. He agreed to join Real Madrid’s senior team in exchange for a record price of €46 million, accepting the deal.

Amazingly, he has played 131 times for Real and has 31 goals. He is notable for having twice won La Liga with Real in the seasons 2019–2020 and 20221–2022.

He also split the 2021–22 and 2022 Super Cup UEFA Champions League championships with his partner Camavinga.

The 22-year-old began his career in 2015 as a member of Brazil’s U-15 team and advanced through the levels to join the senior squad in 2019.

Phil Foden

Ricardo Pepi

Christian Pulisic

Watch out for Christian Pulisic, a talented 24-year-old player for the US national team, at the 2022 World Cup. He debuted in the Bundesliga in 2016 with Borussia Dortmund.

He has since grown into one of their most important offensive midfielders. While playing for Dortmund in 2016–17, he captured the DFB Pokal.

He relocated to Chelsea in 2019, which helped his professional career take off. He scored 20 goals for Chelsea in 87 games.
